What's New
The last ten major changes to the site.
- 07/14/2025 - I enter into the compendium a young adult series designed largely for the female teen market but still enjoyable to this far from teen male. The three books in the series known as , penned delightfully by Lisa Orchard, deals with three young teens who are not really spies but do lots of spy-ish stuff.
- 07/12/2025 - I had a lot of fun with today's entrant into the compendium because is a man of action, when he is not sloshing down bourbon, and the amount of excitement and mayhem he provides is, well, a lot. As in, wow! The one novella and four full-length adventures, penned by Sam Cogley, are packed with Knight doing what he does best which is pounding the heck out of the ungodly.
- 07/10/2025 - Entering the compendium today is a quartet of adventures about a software expert who has had a lot of experience with U.S. Naval Intelligence and will have more in the future. Add in his two near-adult sons who have their own stories to tell and you have a darned good set of tales about by L. Russell Records.
- 07/08/2025 - A few days ago, I added a terrific series by Peter Tonkin which takes place back in the days of Elizabeth I. Today I add another of his impressive spy series from the past with , a five-book set of adventures of Iaconus Artemidorus as he spies and does other things on behalf of the Caesar's, Julius and then Octavius.

- 07/06/2025 - I delight in bringing into the compendium a fantastic spy series set during and just after the Second World War. Penned wonderfully by Robert Wallace, it deals with two brothers primarily but also with a couple of fascinating women. Please welcome .
- 07/04/2025 - I say in My Comments for today's newcomer to the compendium, "Mr. Tonkin is an excellent storyteller and Robert Poley is an excellent example of that." We have been given three terrific adventures of which take us back to the era of Elizabeth I and I enjoyed the heck out of each of them.
- 07/04/2025 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY, AMERICA!!! Still looking good at 249!! Things need improving here and there, some more than others, but by and large, you are still grand, IMHO.
- 07/02/2025 - Entering the compendium today is a very exciting, entertaining trio of novellas about a government killer who might or might not have a conscience but definitely has a code, something his superiors find ... annoying. Alex Cage has written these three tales about and I hope he elects to give us more in the future.
- 06/30/2025 - Today's entrant is a 12-book series by an accomplished action writer. Wes Allen gives us a lot of excitement in these 12 books about a physician who is also an assassin for the CIA. Chap also has the terrific name of .

What's New!
SPY FICTION!
Say the word SPY to most people and they will respond with James Bond,
with good reason as he is the best known of all fictional spies. With 20+ blockbuster movies over the last 60+ years,
along with the standard movie hype, virtually the entire world knows about 007 and his License To Kill.
Of course, James Bond is by no means the only spy in the world of fiction, just the best known. Who are the rest?
Who has his or her own license to kill, thrill, or chill. How do these agents stack up against each other? Who would
you want beside you in a car chase, in a knife fight, in a dark alley, or beneath the covers?
This site is dedicated to the many, many men and women who, at least in fiction, have defended our freedoms against all forms of enemies, foreign and domestic. Well, granted a few of them were just in it for the money and many were only after the excitement, and sex played a huge role in the motivation of more than a few. But still, their actions helped not only preserve our way of life (on paper) but also brought us, the readers, many hours of escapism and vicarious pleasure.
So, who are these people that I have slaved so diligently to present to you? They are the men and women of spy-fi about whom there is a series. Single-book characters need not apply. There has to be at least two adventures. Two's the minimum but the more the merrier.
Moreover, I have confined membership to the English language (with a couple of notable exceptions). If it wasn't put into English so I can read it, I haven't worried about it.
Each spy has his or her own page. Click on the "Characters" button to go to a listing page. Click on the letter the
character's last name starts with (or a more common moniker like "Death Merchant" if appropriate). That will take one
step further into the labrynth. Finally, select the character's name from the list and, voila!
Have fun!!
